THE ABILITY KIDS

We would like to introduce a new book series, The Ability Kids.
Ability Kids are superheroes who want to teach children how to interact with someone who is differently abled.  The Ability Kids show up when someone says the word DISABLED.  Once they hear the word DISABLED, a lightning bolt flashes and the Ability Kid superhero shows up to teach the children how to interact with one another.  The Ability Kid also explains what they can do instead of what they can't do.

Each story is crafted to address, what society calls a "disability".  We are trying to shed a light on some of the most common "differently abled" abilities.

The first book released in the series is "Layla, The Flying Wheeled Hornet". Now, we welcome the release of "Akio, The Autistic Stealth Flyer."

As their slogan says, The Ability Kids are showing the world their abilities without the DIS!

Thank you for visiting our site.
We hope you enjoy the series!

Reviews

"All heroes don’t wear capes. In fact, they just might wear capes in the ‘Flying wheeled Hornet’! Ability kids is a fresh and creative way to inspire differently abled kids, for generations to come! Get this book!"

Eric Crittenden, MS.Ed

"This book helps not only children, but parents on a sometimes-uncomfortable subject.  The character was empowered and shared this strength to show we can celebrate the uniqueness of all of our kids.  We should all see the able and not the label."

Kim Sexton, Adaptability Seamstress & Tailor

"Layla, The Flying Wheeled Hornet" is a whimsical tale about a young child learning to discover a magical wheelchair that lets them understand a part of life that parents have their own trouble understanding.  Blending fantasy with relatable emotions, the story explores themes of adventure, friendship, and self-belief.

With vivid descriptions and charming illustrations, the book captivates readers of all ages, reminding them of the joy of exploration and the importance of understanding we are all the same with different needs.  Overall, it's a heartwarming story that inspires individuality and wonder.  As parents of a special little girl, I wholeheartedly recommend this book to all to read and open your eyes to the world."

Richard Elliott, Parent of an Ability Kid

"As a caregiver, to my sister, Janetta, The Ability Kids book series will be one to remember.  The book is intriguing, heartfelt, and unique.  This book will reach adults and children all over the world and will help us end the stigma when we encounter a person or a child who has an ability different than ours."

Maria Reid, LMHC & Caregiver

"I absolutely love Layla, The Flying Wheeled Hornet. What a fun and easy way to teach kids about diversity and expand their background knowledge.  We are all different, and that's OK!
